              We started the day by correcting the blog and reading our summaries. Then, we did the TKAM summary in our English notebooks. Scout almost fights Cecil Jacobs over Atticus defending Tom Robinson. Atticus tells Scout not to use the n-word and that sometimes you have to stand up for what's right. It's Christmas and they celebrate with Uncle Jack, Aunt Alexandria, and Francis. She fights Francis and swears so Uncle Jack spanks her. Jack learns to hear the whole story. "Simply because we were licked a hundred years before we started is no reason for us not to try to win" (101). Then, we were able to take an AR test. The bell rang and we left for lunch.     We started the day off by writing the agenda and correcting Natalie's blog. After that, we read our TKAM summaries to each other. Then, we opened our English journals to page fifteen, and discussed chapter 8 of To Kill a Mockingbird. In chapter 8, Jem and Scout build a snowman, and Miss Maudie's house catches on fire. We read "Aint I a Woman?" by Sojourner Truth. This was about a woman speaking about equal rights for men, women and Black people. We then took annotations on this speech. Then, the bell rang, and we went to lunch.

                                                                                                                      We started off the day by correcting Victoria's blog. Thanks, Victoria for picking me. It's nice to know who your true friends are. I did not write this. Victoria wrote that. We turned to our English notebooks to write about what happened in ch.7 of To Kill a Mockingbird. Victoria was distracting me and not letting me finish the blog. Then, we turned to page 18 in our notebooks to finish "The Golden Rule." Then, we made a chart on our golden rule pages in our notebooks. Shout out to Victoria and Chloe. Also, thanks a lot Christina for going home early. I pick you, Christina.

We started the day off with correcting Kane's blog, and of course, he had to choose me. As I was writing the agenda, Yonina and Shoval were calling me from their seats. They were telling me to give them a shout out, so there you go. After that, Ms. Nakada told us about Fred Korematsu. Also, Natalie was begging me to not put her in the blog, so I wanted to make her upset by putting her in the blog anyways, I also wanted to put Christina in the blog. Shout out to Christina. Then, we talked about our Quotes, Question and Song of the week. Our quote for the week was, "If you have the feeling something is wrong, don't be afraid to speak up" by Fred Korematsu. The song of the week was "Strange Fruit" by Billie Holiday. The question of the week was, "Do you follow the golden rule?" Then, we talked about what the song was about: lynching. Then, we got out our English notebooks. Then, we talked about what a Golden Rule was. Then, we watched a video about a lady who was saying: "Always treat all others as if you'd like to be treated. Don't do to others what you wouldn't like." After we watched the video, Ms. Nakada and told us to pack up, and Kuper asked me if I can give her a shoutout, so there you go Kuper. Then, Mathan came up to me and started saying stupid stuff, which I expected from him. Then, the bell rang, and we went to the lunch.

Let me explain the title, so the first time I did the blog it didn't save, so I did it again making it my second, but first, hope you understand. We started the day with Shanylah proclaiming she ran four laps, and Ms. Nakada explained that it's all mind over matter. We started to read each other's summaries when I noticed the lack of periods on the chapter summaries. I'd like to go on record and say that I did not erase those periods. Nope, anyway, I, the innocent child, heard Ms. Nakada say we're going to watch the movie and compare what's the same and what's different. When Ms. Nakada turned on the light she asked which scene was better and most of the class said the movie. We were all handed a piece of paper for the book projects, and we worked on reading or the AR test 'til the bell rang. Special thanks to no one because I can't spell well, and I'm not risking it for his name.

For today, we all read our summaries that we made when we read chapter. Then Ms. Nakada told us the right way to do the blog by explaining what you don't do when trying to make a summary. After all that, Kane came into class. Then, we made a new page for TKAM plot lines.

We started the day by correcting Katie's blog. Ms. Nakada had to do the blog because Katie was late. Ms. Nakada had us take out our binder reminders, and we wrote down the agenda. We took out our English journals and wrote down the quote, question and, song. The quote was, "Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life." -Mary Oliver The question was: how do you experience privilege/oppression. During the song, "What's Going On" by Marvin Gaye, Shanylah started dancing and James had a weird face while she danced. Shortly after she danced, I was called to do the blog. The bell did rang, and we dipped to lunch. :) Why you still here? Oh, yeah, I pick Jake. btw.

      We start off with Ms. Nakada giving out Nano Awards. Then, we did blog corrections and read our TKAM summaries and wrote more notes for TKAM chapters. We started TKAM Book v. Movie like we did for The Outsiders. We started to watch the movie. It started all nice and happy. We stopped at a sad part :'( and then the bell rang, and we left to lunch.

Chapter 4

    Today's class started with Ms. Nakada lecturing the class, about how to behave to our fellow classmates. Two people had to step outside, and then everyone came back in the room, when it was time to take out our reading journals. Everyone was reading their summaries from To Kill A Mockingbird, to their elbow partners. Ms.Nakada told everyone to get their summaries done for our grade, since there is going to be a strike. We take out our English notebooks, and write new information from To Kill A Mockingbird. Ms. Nakada writes the quote, "Inside the house lived a malevolent phantom." Then we talked about Scouts first day, and how she beat up Walter. Jem invited him over for supper, and Walter poured syrup all over his food. Calpurnia talks to Scout and told her to let him do what he wants as a guest, after she judges him for it. We also talked about letting the Ewells hunt whenever they want, because the Ewells need food to eat.

  Then, we took out iPads and some students took the star test, that didn't yesterday. It's 12:37 and the bell rang for lunch.

Chapter 3 summary

     Today, we start off by reading our chapter two summaries to each other. Then, we talk about chapter two. After that, we log into AR and took the star test.It gets very quiet. Charlie kept coming up to get a different iPad so, I gave him mine. I'm glad that Christian picked me, because it really smelled bad where I was sitting and I wanted to move. We all put our iPads away, and the bell rang. Then, we went to lunch.

Chapter 2

   We start they day by correcting, Devan's blog. I am not saying that I'm mad or upset about being chosen by or not because it's getting kind of old. So, thank you Devan. Anyways, we start by going into our journals and turning to our reading log or whatever you call it. Ms. Nakada was then talking about the hard challenge about reading To Kill A Mockingbird. She talks about what the first part of the book  To Kill A Mockingbird is about. 

   I hear Leila's "weird laugh" or whatever, and then Danni making fun of Mr. Perez's height and telling Ms. Nakada that she's taller than him. (What a bully, but that's Danni's job I guess, such a spoony sister) The class, is now opened to their English journals and turning to page 15. They title the page To Kill A Mockingbird. They are writing and discussing about conflicts, setting, and characters in the book. I'm getting really bored because, it's so quiet! (Tik Tok goes the Clock, Minute and Minute passing by and I'm getting even more bored!) I think I'll make poem about my boredom.

We started off the day by writing the agenda down. Alan chose me to write the blog, which I did not appreciate, thanks Alan. Then, we discussed the quote, question, and song.
Shoval and Yonina wanted to be in the blog, so now they are in the blog. The song we listened to was a guy playing a banjo talking about which side are you on. Ms. Nakada said that you are either with the union or you're not, there is no in-the-middle option. Ms. Nakada gave out her gift of words to the students who were absent, and we began reading To Kill a Mockingbird. We listed the first conflict, the setting, and the characters. Then, the bell rang and we went off to lunch.
