ALAN'S SECOND BLOG O_O

Okay, so basically, I probably won't remember most of what I'm writing currently. I shall look back and cringe tomorrow. But here's what we've done for the day.

AGENDA:
BLOG/CORRECTIONS, GIFTS OF WORDS

HW:
R.J 13.4 READ FOR 20-30 MINUTES. GET PARENT SIGNATURE!

What's a synonym for "we started the day?" I could go and look in a thesaurus, but I'm just gonna start it like that. Oh wait, I've already started it with something else. HAHA! I'M SO FUNNY!
We started the day by correcting Eli's blog and it was very epic. A bit cynical, but he's not here right now so I can bully him all I want.  Nah, that's mean. Please don't hack my Webkinz account Eli. O_O
I am unsure of what else to write, because right now portfolios are being passed out.
Here's a haiku I just made. Nevermind, Mathan told me about my typing and how it's fast. O_O

Now here's my haiku:
Mein Name ist Jeff
is a funny maymay lol
I am doing blog.

Yes, that last line wasn't grammatically correct, but I'm trying to scrunch in 5 syllables. Please don't correct that haiku. O_O
Oh god. Typing more means that I need to speak more in front of the class.
Ms. Nakada just announced that the rest of the period is for creating a gift of words.
What's that?
To be fair, I'm not sure.
But what I know is that it is a gift with words put it that usually have some sort of sentimental meaning, or probably just random nonsense. If I had an annotation for this semester, it would be "chaotic good" by me. I didn't ever say that out loud, just thought of it yesterday. But now I just said it.
Edit from the end of the day: Charles has told me that he wanted to do the last blog so that he could say happy Christmas. Happy Christmas. O_O

O_O is a good emoji, people. Use it more often if you don't already. O_O
Thanks Thaddeus for showing me the glory of O_O.
And shout-out to Eli, Lucas, and Bluh47 of another state. O_O
I already shouted out Thad. O_O
He's absent and I am very sad. O_O
That's bad.
Not rad.
Wow, I'm an amazing rapper. Phenomenal. Absolutely amazing. Stunning. O_O
A few minutes after I've written this, Danni has come to get glue and has instructed me to put her in the blog and put her Instagram in the blog. @danni_neal.
Time to plug in my channel on youtube. Subscribe to Alanspiderkipz. O_O
And Bluh47 Gaming. That was some extreme subliminal messaging I just did there.
The bell, which probably isn't a physical bell, just the recorded sound of one, chimed and we all exited the English room of Ms. Nakada. And if you didn't exit, I feel bad because you didn't get to go to lunch. You know, I'm writing this ahead of time before the bell, so here's a message from past Alan at 12:29 PM: Dear future Alan, if you're stuck here at lunch, I shall express my upmost sympathy for you. Ha, nerd.

Eli's Second Blog

AGENDA
Fall Grades, Portfolios
Readers Workshop
Winter Haiku: Gift of Words
Fall Annotation

HW
RJ 13.3 Read for 20-30 minutes

Well, we're finally here again. Lupe chose me, and that's good timing since tomorrow, or Thursday as this will be read, is the last day I'll be here before break, and that's because I'm going to Mexico on Friday, really early in the morning because blah blah blah I don't know why. Okay, back to the day. We correct her blog, and we start getting work to put in portfolios. Someone tells me to put them in the blog, and I'm not doing that, because why do you want to be put in the blog? What's so special about seeing your name in a blog? Other people don't care besides you. I mean, since no one else besides them knows I'm talking about them, doesn't that make them feel more special? Whatever makes you happy...  People are still doing stuff with portfolios, and I'm bored and have nothing to say. I should put stuff in my portfolio, but I'm sitting here, doing the blog. I don't really like speaking as stuff goes on that isn't important right now, since when I read this, it will sound like it's still happening, when it really isn't. Time flies doesn't it? Portfolio stuff is still going on, so I'm just going to put the work in the portfolio.

That was quick. Is that because I'm just not doing work? Why do I even bother to care? Who cares?

Well, now we're done with portfolios, and we're told to take out our English journals. It looks like we're doing something called gift of words. We're learning about haiku in general. We're actually writing a haiku, so I'll share mine with you.

I like wasting time
Sitting down just doing stuff
Procrastination

I hope you like it. A lot more is happening from the last time I did the blog, so that gives me more to write about. Now, we're learning annotations, which is just a citation from a book, or movie. Not many quotes I can think of right now, but I'll get there. Quotes haven't always been something I pay attention to, nor want to, but I have to. Who knows, I might find them way more interesting than I think. Class ends soon, and there's not much left to say, so I guess this is goodbye, for now.

Agenda
Blog Corrections
Fall Semester Grading
Readers' Workshop/ AR
HW
RJ 13.2 Read for 20-30 minutes
We started off the class by correcting Anthony's blog. He told me he was going to pick me, then he said he was going to pick Devan, but I guess he changed his mind and picked me. I don't really know what to say anymore, so I turned around. Nancy and Rozhan told me to put them in the blog. Sorry, Rozhan, if I didn't spell your name right. Then, we started grading our NaNo submissions. I turn around and people are asking if I had done the blog already. I mean obviously not, right? Anyways, Yonina, James and Shoval asked me to put them in the blog. I'm writing down assignments and I hear Zamari say, "Stop with the shenanigans." I don't know who he's talking to but it sounds like something he would say to me. Speaking of him, he then comes up to me and asks me, "Who would be the first to die in the purge?" I don't really have an answer, but maybe him. The bell rings, and we went off too lunch. I didn't really want to end the blog in such a basic way, but whatever. Oh, and Maria came up to me at the end of class and said, "add me." I'm guessing she meant in the blog. Then, Charlie came and slightly hit me. Maybe that was his way of telling me he wanted to be in the blog too, lol.

Q.Q. Song
Readers' workshop/AR
Fall illustrated Annotation
HW:RJ 13.1 Read for
20-30 minutes

We started off our day by writing down the quote, question, and song of the week. The quote of the week is, "select and collect all the words and sentences that have been to you like the blast of a trumpet"by Ralph Waldo Emerson. When we wrote down the quote, question, and song we talked about the quote and question's meaning. Then, Ms. Nakada talked about the fall illustrated annotation and that we will have to write about quotes that we liked from this semester. Ms. Nakada then told us   to get a book out and do readers' workshop  for  the rest of the period if we finished our fall final exams.  Then, the bell rang, and we went off to lunch.

AGENDA
Blog Corrections
Nano Reflection
Full Final Review
HW - Fall Final Exam starts tomorrow

We started off the day with reading Tariq's blog. Of course, he had to pick me but, I don't mind. I wanted to be picked anyway. James made fun of me because the way I said "ok," so I hit him. After, Ms. Nakada told us to take out a sheet of paper and title it Nano Reflection. Kane asked Ms. Nakada which class was her favorite, and she said 5th period was. We wanted to be the favorite class, but I guess its fine. She told us what to write, but I didn't really listen because I was doing this. I heard James asked Carmen if she got kicked out of Texas. That is a stupid question, but who am I to judge. I don't know what to write about anymore. Then, a few minutes later, people started to say that kids are annoying and other stuff I don't even remember. Imma just do the Nano Reflection cause I need to anyway. When you were done with the reflection, you had to staple it to your Nano Submission and to your Nano packet. Then, finally we left for lunch. Bye peeps!

Hey, I'm back. I was chosen to do the blog today, because I hadn't done it yet, and because I had finished my novel. Love that. Gross, hate myself for saying that.  Anyway, we started the period out by correcting Carmen's blog. After that, Ms. Nakada put on a video that is called, The Heroes Journey by Matthew Winkler. I can't really tell you a summary on it, because I was to busy writing the agenda. After, we finished watching the video, Ms. Nakada let us have the rest of the period for NaNo. This is the part where I don't have anything to talk about so, the rest is probably going to be boring. I look over my shoulder, and I see Shoval whispering to me, to put her on my blog. So, there you go:) Okay, at this point I REALLY don't know what else to write about, so instead I'm going to just give out shoutouts. Okay, so we have Lupe, Nancy, Rozhan, Yonina and Kiwi. I don't know what else to talk about, so I'm probably going to just go work on my novel, but before that I'm going to be basic, Noah offense and say, ''After that the bell rang, and we went off to lunch.'' Lol bye.

Nancy's Second Blog

AGENDA
 BLOG/Corrections
 Q.Q Song
 NaNo 5 day Plan
 NaNo submissions
 HW: NaNo 88% by tonight!

Hi, I am back. Thank you, Charlie, for picking me. We started off the day by writing down the Agenda in our English Notebooks. The Quote of the week was: "To achieve great things, two things are needed; a plan and not quite enough time." Leonard Bernstein. I think this quote means that you always have to be prepared and have the supplies you need in order to do what you need to do. The Song of the week was "Forever Young" Alphaville. I didn't really listen to the song because I was concentrated on writing this blog. Ms. Nakada told us to turn to page 12, it should have NaNoWriMo. She also said that the NaNo was due at midnight. You can get extra credit points if you go over the goal. Ms.Nakada also said that we had to do a NaNo submission that was due December 4th. We had to write about the author. Ms.Nakada showed us one of her Submissions and she said that fourth period was her favorite and Danni asked what it really said and, she said that it was actually Sixth period. Ms.Nakada said that if we don't get a good percentage we could still get points for doing a good submission. After this she asked us to take out our packet. She said to make sure that you are filling in the thermometer for your percentage. I turned around and Rozhan said to put her in the blog so here you go. Ms. Nakada said that you have to write everyday in order to get a streak. I got bored while doing this because there wasn't much to talk about. Oh and by the way, the Question of the week is: "Does technology get in the way of learning?" I honestly would say yes just because I get distracted while doing homework. Ms. Nakada said that in ten minutes she would check our word count. Ha, good thing I'm done. Shout out to Lupe, Maria, and Yonina. The rest of the period everyone was quiet. All I heard was typing and typing and typing. I'm not bothered by that because honestly I do the same. After a few minutes Ms. Nakada started calling names for the word count. Ms. Nakada said that David finished and we all clapped for him. Congrats Zamari, Arezou, David, Danni, and Yeab for finishing NaNoWriMo. Ms. Nakada finally told us we could pack up. Yay! I got this over with. Shabye guys. Hasta la vista! Shoval is great. She made me say that.

Kuper wanted to be in the blog as well as Danni. Bye Bye !

Charlie's Second Blog

Agenda: Blog Corrections
Allusions
NaNoWriMo!

HW: NaNo 50% by tonight!
Tomorrow write-in

We started off the day by correcting Danni's very "spoony" blog. Thanks for choosing me, Danni. We started talking about my pet name, 'Char Char'. Then, Ms. Nakada started talking about allusions and referencing them in The Outsiders. Nancy, Leron, and some others wanted to be in the blog, Danni wanted and after she chose me there's no way I'm putting he in this. Everybody started typing for NaNoWriMo, and there's lots of loud keyboard tapping (David, it's annoying). We kinda did NaNoWriMo for the rest of the period. I turn around to see if anything is happening and I look at Danni. She looks at me and curses. I didn't even do anything, but choose her for the blog the first round, and she already got me back by choosing me the second round, so I don't understand. Kane asks how to spell tore and everyone goes back to typing. I just remembered that I was the one who started roasting in the blog when I said Kane was making a big deal about making room on a desk that was already taken up by him. Apparently, Kane is 21% behind so he's gotta catch up. Not much is happening so I'll type again when something happens or I feel like roasting somebody. I want to type my novel, but I have to do the blog and have no mistakes so Ms. Nakada can give us a point. Hastings comes in; I remind him that I make the best Gatorade there is. Wow, David types loud. I get a flyer for the write-in and I'm confused what it is. Mr. B. is yelling at his class, again. Ms. Nakada explains the write-on to us and how it can benefit our word count. I have 57% on NaNoWriMo. Danni has 78%. No need to flex Danni, we know you don't have plans after school, so you have all day to type. I got a button for passing 50%, yay! I want to roast somebody even though there's no roasting in the blog. I feel like all my sentences are kind of random and don't go together. Leron said if i put him in the blog he will give me a dollar, how generous. The bell rang and we, I'm not going to be basic so I'm going to say class ended and we left class. Shoutout to my best friend, Leila.

AGENDA
blog/corrections
Q.Q. Song
NaNoWriMo

HW
NaNo 43% by tonight

I would like to start by saying that I'm very mad at you Arezou, and you are a spoon. We started off the day by correcting Arezou's blog. She just had to be a spoon and pick me. I mean I didn't think anyone could be more spoony than David. Then, we did the Q.Q. Song. The quote is "Have no fear of perfection you will never reach it." Salvador Dali. I think this means you shouldn't worry about reaching perfection because you will never achieve it. The question was: Have you backed up your novel yet? The song of the week "Scars to Your Beautiful" by Alessia Cara, I think this is about not changing yourself to please society. David keeps asking me to be in the blog; it's really annoying. He also keeps trying to read the blog over my shoulder, and I keep getting scared because every time I turn that way I see a frog. We started NaNoWriMo but I can't because I'm stuck writing the stupid blog. DAVID CAN YOU PLEASE STOP LOOKING AT ME. Then, Ms. Nakada told Mathan to get off the iPad and write his novel on paper, to any other person this would have been a real inconvenience, but since Mathan only has about 40 words I don't think it was a big deal. DAVID I DON'T CARE THAT YOU ARE AT 70%. COULD YOU PLEASE STOP SHOWING ME (he wants me to correct that to 71). Anselma, I'm not putting that in the blog, but just know I want to throw up right now. DAVID STOP TOUCHING THE COMPUTER. Then, Ms. Nakada called up all the kids who are under 20%. The bell rang, and I did not go to lunch, because I have to finish writing this. As soon as the bell rang five people asked me to be in the blog, you couldn't have asked me while I was bored and had nothing to write?

Today, we took our binder reminders out and started to write down the Hw and Agenda. After so many times telling him to not pick me for the blog because I have to work on the essay, Zamari decides to pick me, how wonderful. He's very lucky he's not here today. So, instead of doing the essay, I'm here making the blog, thank you very much Zamari, I really appreciate it. While we were correcting Zamari's blog, Ms. Nakada showed us that there is a spell check on top of the screen to see where you went wrong on a word, which I'm doing right this second. Ms. Nakada told the class something about the essay which I quite didn't get because I was so concentrated on the blog. We all are working on the essays and David over here is typing so loud, I can't hear myself think. Just kidding, David, didn't mean to call you out. This might be a short blog, because there is nothing really to talk about so, I'm going to end the blog now by saying the bell rang and we went off to lunch like we always say. Since Dani is over here, trying to be in the blog, so I chose you to be the next blogger.

Finally, Zamari has come back the blog. Totally didn't steal that from the Rock. As you guys are reading this, I'm not going to be here. Wow, Danni I haven't been here for three second and you're already telling me I suck at fortnite. How rude. So, today we are doing A TEST. OH NO, I'M FREAKING OUT! JK. NEEDED SOME DRAMA FOR THE BLOG oops cap lock, sorry. I'm pretty sure today is going to be a quiet day. I hear James asking a dumb question. FIGURES. Mathan keeps mumbling to himself, so weird :p. Danni wants a shout out I'm not giving her one though because she dissed my fortnite skills. Guess I just gaVE HER A SHOUT OUT THOUGH. Uhh caps lock deez days. I hear screaming, oh no. Leila stay roasting, Kuper was right when she said he had no edges. Danni proceeds to ask me to be in the blog again what a silly goose. I didn't steal that from mathan ;). ok guys imma take a break from the blog for my test. Nothing is really happening, just typing. Finally, something happened. Leila waved at me. I might take back what I said about her edges. I wonder who to pick: Arezou? Devin? Of course Rozahn wants to be in the blog. Nobody ever roasts her either. Wonder if I should NAH? Anselma just said hi to me basically telling me that she wants to be in the blog. I'm sorry, Kiwi, but since I'm not going see you today, I'll just say it rn. Bye, Twitch Streamer.

Hey! So, today we started by writing down the agenda in our binder reminders, and then Shoval read her blog. She kept telling me and Arezou that she was ging to pick Zamari, but then she just HAD to choose me. Thanks a lot, Shoval. What a real friend who are. Jk. Anyways, I'm doing this blog, but I don't know what to say, so I turn around and look at Leila. OH MY GOD! She over there making googley eyes at James. Awweeee cc! Then I see Leron, and he's just staring at Leila. Jealous much?Mathan seems really mad because he doesn't know what to write for his novel. Hold on. Yonina just waved at me. HI! There's your shout out so don't ask for another one. Dang, David is writing a lot of words here. Is he gonna slow down? Leila looks like she's going to freeze to death. Anselma and Leila keep calling my name, like just stop already. I really want to work n my novel, but I don't think I'm able to because this blog is taking to long. Wow,  it's a really slow day today. David just tapped me, and he got to 50%. YAY DAVID!! Rozhan just asked to put her in the blog, so there you go girlll! Oh god, I sound really optimistic. Ms. Nakada was asking about Adhik, and I hear James say that he's probably still in the air. Then Ms. Nakada explains why it takes so long to go to India, and that he should still be able to work on his novel. Then she tells us that she's happy Mathan has written more words in his novel because he had nothing and everybody starts clapping really loud. Ms. Nakada made them quiet down and Zamari said that everyone needs a standing ovation once in their life. Then I hear Leila calling me again, but this time it's for a shout out. She wants me to shout out her dance page, but why should I shout it out if she can't even dance. Sorry not sorry. Now Leila is telling Nathaniel that she didn't wink, but we all saw that wink that you gave Leron a few minutes ago hon. I never noticed it, but the typing on the keyboards is kind of annoying. And now I hear Tariq and Zamari saying bet to each other, and I turn to see Devan laughing. Nancy wants to be in the blog too, so hey Nancy! Every time I turn around, someone is always waving at me or asking to be in the blog. HI SISTER YEEB! Sister Father Dannimals is at 45% at her novel. I don't know how people can write so much. NANCY PASSED THE GOAL!! YAY NANCY!! I really don't know how you can be at 100% of the goal while I'm at 21%. Gosh yall are fast. Leila keeps laughing at nothing, like chill. Then she says, no edges, like stop talking about yourself. Jk jk. Ms. Nakada is taking the percents of our novels when the bell rings! Before we leave, Ms. Nakada asks the people who are under 10% to stay after. Bye!

To start of the day, we wrote in our agendas. Then, Rozhan read her blog and we corrected it.
Then, she decided to pick me. I did not really care so...yeah, you suck. After that, Ms. Nakada told us to take out our NaNoWriMo packets, and write in our percentages. Then, Ms.Nakada told us to log into our NaNoWriMo and continue our novel. She told us we are allowed to listen to music from our phones. I don't really have anything to do right now. I look over at David's computer and he's on 36%. All I'm thinking is, "Wow, David, you are so cool, like, who are you trying to impress? Is it Katie? Or Danni?" Then, I turn around and Rozhan tells me to put her in the blog... desperate much? I see Rozhan trying to look at my blog. Rozhan just stop we all know my blog is better. I see Leila wave at me, and I wave back. Weirdo right? I ask David what percent he's at, and he tells me he's at 38% now. I told him he's cool. After I give David a compliment, Ms. Nakada goes outside and makes a phone call. Of course, everyone starts to whisper, and I hear someone tell Leron to take a shower. I turn around, and Yonina tells me to say that she punched James. After that, the bell rang, and we did not go to lunch. Ms. Nakada made us tell her our percentages again before we go to lunch. Rozhan and Yonina keep trying to read my blog. I had to make Ms. Nakada make them leave. Then, everyone went to lunch.

It's that easy and that hard" By Neil Gaiman. Song: "Don't give Up" By Peter Gabriel. Then, everyone started complaining about how this song is too depressing. Question: What do you want more than anything else? Mathan said, "A banana." Then, we logged on the NaNoWriMo site. Ms. Nakada said we have twenty minutes to do it. Then, she said, "Wake up, single digit people." lol. And yeah that's basically it. Then, the bell rang, and we went off to lunch.

Happy dia de los muertos!
NaNoWriMo: Where to begin?
RJ
HW : NaNo 3%

Good morning! Haha, you really thought. It's November 1, everybody. Get ready for PTSD! To start the "wonderful" day, Nathaniel read his blog and chose me :), and of course, I started whining. It's me, how could I not? Thanks, Friend! Once we started to correct his blog, Ms. Nakada explained that one of the terms Nathaniel called Leila was racist. She explain that even though he didn't mean it like that, it's racist because of its history. Ms. Nakada explained a bit more, and Nathaniel said sorry.

Then, we got a yellow paper which talked about dia de los muertos, and spooky scary skeletons. Kane said that he hates it when people say, " tor-till-ahhhhhs" instead of "tor-tea-ahs", and knowing our class we all started saying tortillas. We started talking about how we and our families grieve with death and the special things we do, oh and DO NOT forget to bring an offering!

Now, it's time that everyone's waiting for: NANOWRIMO! We all start logging in on the NaNoWriMo site, and of course, I can't log in. Just my luck. Once I finally log in, I see Leila and Mathan canoodling, Watch your girl Leron because Mathan's looking like Mr. Steal-Your-Girl, wink wonk. We all keep typing, and that's the tea. Oh, and of course star boy over here, Tyler, is in the lead because he wrote the most words. I'm NOT like the rest of this class, so I'm not gonna say the bell rang, and we went off to lunch. Oh wait, I just did. WHOOPS. Oh well, see y'all tomorrow, and good luck ;)!

HW: NaNoWriMo starts
tomorrow.
Let's go!
Return Buddy Letters.

To start the day, we come into the room and Ms. Nakada give us candy. Then, we sit down and take out our binder reminders; Leron reads his blog. Good job. Lelia tells Ms. Nakada there should not be roasting in the blog. Ms. Nakada agrees, and I was a little mad, but not that much. Lelia is so mean to me, so here is my chance.

Then, Ms. Nakada tells everyone to take out their Inktober she said, "You should all have 25 Inktober's." Then, she went around checking the Inktobers.

After, Lelia told me she is going to tell Ms. Nakada to make me take what I said out. Ms. Nakada told us to stop talking, and we continue; Ms. Nakada asked, "Do you think it's disrespectful to talk while someone talking?" Yes, it's disrespectful. I think that we should apologize to Ms. Nakada. Ms. Nakada explained to us about the NaNoWriMo Buddy letter. She said we can write to anyone in the class or at home. Ms. Nakada said she is writing to Hazel, one of the teachers at Venice High School, her husband David, and to us. After, Ms. Nakada said were supposed to start the paragraph off about how we feel about NaNoWriMo. Then, she said tell the person we writing to about the type of support about we need.

Now, Ms. Nakada starting talking to Mathan, like always, and she told him, not to play Fornite, and stay off Social Media. Someone said, "He's using his mom's phone."  My target is to at least get to 25,000 words. I think I can do it. Anybody want to bet? Then, Ms. Nakada told us to feel free to write about any dark thing or anything we want to. Before I forget, shout out to Kiwi, Rozhan, James you get a pass this time, Lelia, Danni. Then, David Benaron walked in the room and said, "Did I leave my mask in here?'' Ok, I ran out what to say so now, I don't know, but I'm so happy. After school, I'm getting Hot N Juicy. Then, Ms. Nakada start talking about something I already for got. Then, the bell rang and we went to lunch.

OH AND SHOUTOUT TO YONINA AND YOUR TURN, FRIEND!!!!!!

Next, we took out our NaNoWriMo packet. Btw, the Dodgers lost 5-1 to the Red Sox.  Ms. Nakada was talking about conflict: character v Character, Character v nature, Character v self. After, we got out the iPads to start our NaNoWriMo prep. Then, we went back to the packet to go to the calender. Ms. Nakada asked us if we are going to do it on the iPads. All of the class is going to on the iPads. Then, we packed up, because it was a short day. The bell rang, and we went to lunch.

Leila's Second Blog

Agenda:
Blog/Corrections
Q.Q song
Inktober
NaNo Wri Mo

HW: RJ 12.1 read for
20-30 mins

We started the day off by writing our agenda and homework in our binder reminder. After, David read his blog and we corrected it. The quote of the week is, "If there is a book you really want to read, but it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it." by Toni Morrison. I agree with Toni. The song of the week is "I Could Write a Book" by Harry Connick Jr. This song is about two friends that become lovers.     The line I liked the most was, "If they ask me, I could write a book about the way you walk and whisper and look." The question of the week is, do teachers assign to much homework? My answer is no; it could just be spread out more. Then, we started Inktober; the word was double or united. After Inktober, the class took out their NaNoWriMo worksheets. Next. we made an account on the  NaNoWri Mo site. After you made an account, we made a word count for our novel and picked the genre. Then, the bell rang, and we went off to lunch.

NaNoWriMo Prep

H.W.: NaNo sparks!

Today, we stared Blog corrections for James' blog. Half way in Ms. Nakada said, "I don't think I can finish the blog corrections" with all of the things that were saying about Leila. We started to do Inktober; the word of the day was Stretch. While we were doing Inktober, Ms. Nakada was passing out NaNoWrimo's Young Writers Program Packet. Mathan came by and wanted me to type something, or was playing around. I think he wanted to be in the blog, I guess. Next, we started to read the packet that Ms. Nakada passed out and she asked questions about what the first page was about. We took out our English Notebooks and wrote Na No WriMo in the page of table of contents. Na No Wri Mo means  National Novel Writing  Month! When Ms. Nakada said, "I'm going to write a 30,000 word novel draft and that she had written ten of them. So, Ms. Nakada has written a book? In fact, I looked up her name on google and it says she has published two books and they are both on Amazon. She has her own website, and the first book is Through Eyes Like Mine. Danni asked if she can be in the blog. It's going to be Leila or Danni for Monday. Who's going to have to write more? I don't know. We will just have to wait until I end the blog. So, the bell rang, and we went off to lunch.

So many people were asking me to be in the blog. They are: Kiwi, Nathaniel, follow danni_neal on insta and the whole class...  bye and

Hi everyone. So, Kiwi decided to pick me for the blog.....so much for best friends, am I right? Anyways, before I even get to the computer NATHANIEL has to say that I look like charcoal little does he know that he looks like a Duracell battery. The topic for today's Inktober was prickly. Right now, we are going over our essay prompts for I.O & B.A. One questions that we went over was how Hà and other refugees lives turn inside out (flee) or turn back again (find home). WHOAHHHH, I look back, and I see Leila winking at Leron like #couplegoals. As I was saying, I think that Ha and other refugees can find home because they can find someone that they have something in common with or they can find someone that has a similar background as them. Oh yeah. I almost forgot IT'S SHOVAL'S BIRTHDAY. Have a good one. I just heard Mathan say that he is lost like....aren't you always. No, I'm jk. How is Leila going to say that I'm bad at football, but yet she can't even shoot a basketball correctly, like BOI. Now, Leila's going to say that Leron's hairline is better than mine. like #1 his hair line is reciding all the way back to last Thursday and #2 Leila can't talk with those flakey edges of hers. No, I'm jk. Now that that's over with, we are still working on the essays, but for those who have finished they get to do the NaNoWriMo prep, I don't know what that is but it sounds pretty cool. Well, that's all that pretty much happened. Overall, today was a pretty good day. The bell soon rang, and we went to lunch.

AGENDA
Blog/Corrections
Inktober
I.O. & B.A. Essay intro/conclusion
Reader's workshop R.J. check
HW: R.J 11.3 read for 20 - 30 minutes

Hello everyone, happy Thursday. Let's get this bread, lol. For those of you who don't know what that means, it's slang for money. You're welcome. I just made ya'll ten times cooler, just kidding. Anyway, good afternoon. To start the day, we listened to Ferenc read his blog, and then we corrected it. Also, I am so sorry if I spelled that wrong. Mathan asked me if he could be in the blog, so I guess being the nice person I am, I'll put him in the blog. You're so very welcome, Mathan. Also, Leila walked by me and tapped me on the shoulder. I think that was her way of telling me she wanted to be in the blog as well. After that, Danni showed me her Inktober drawings, and they were true art. Good job Danni, even though you copied them, they're still great. You really are a true artist. I mean, come on, it doesn't get any better than Spongebob. Just kidding, don't come at me. Then, Ms. Nakada told us about the sticker over her computer camera that says "Don't @ me."

Even though not everyone was listening, I was, because I appreciate her sticker, because it's funny. I also just realized that since I am the first person to start the second round of blogs, I can pick anyone I want. So, you never know who I might pick. I'm also kind of regretting begging Ferenc to pick me for the blog, because these nails keep tapping on this keyboard, and it's a little annoying, but I guess I did this to myself. But I'm pretty sure you guys don't care about my personal life crisis. Okay, back to this education. Ms. Nakada was talking about the essay about Inside Out & Back Again. I can't go into detail about it, because Mathan kept talking to me about how shook he was because I wrote so much. He said, "You know it's going to take longer to read, right?" Of course, I know it's going to take a long time, but it's also going to waste time. No offense, Ms. Nakada, I love your class. Anyways, after that, I looked behind me because the whole class was talking about something and was looking at the back. I see that Maggie's desk broke. Wow, what a sad day. Then, most of the class kept talking, so Ms. Nakada told them that the essay was the ticket out the door. So, a lot of them stopped talking, but not Mathan. He kept saying stuff about how I wrote a lot, or as he so kindly puts it "a whole book."
Then, Mathan, Leila, and Danni kept telling me to put a pun or a dad joke in, so now I feel obligated to put one in. Therefore, I asked Mathan for one and he said "What kind of underwear do clouds wear? THUNDERWEAR!" I didn't think it was funny, so I asked Leila for one. She just looked at me and got choked up and started laughing. I asked Danni if she could give me one. She gave me a really bad one, so bad I didn't even want to put it in. Darn, I got my hopes up. I expected more from you, Danni. Just kidding. Okay, bye now. Sadly, the bell is about to ring, and Danni and Mathan keep screaming bad dad jokes at me while I'm trying to finish. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk. Just kidding, again, but the bell rang, and we went to lunch.

Here's a list of people who wanted to be in the blog; Mathan, Leila, Danni, Charlie, Rozhan, Yeab, Yonina, Kuper, and Zamari. :) You're so very welcome everyone.

The quote is "No one leaves home unless home is the mouth of a shark" by: Warsan Shire. The question was, "Do people spend too much time on phones/screens?" Yes, they do (so do I), but people have jobs that require them to be on screens, and they don't really have a choice. The Song of the Week is,"Perm" by: Bruno Mars. Then, we moved on to the Socratic Seminar on refugees. We had to make three questions and quotes. When we finished that, we were going to quote a speaker and write a response to what they say (everyone has to talk :'( [I didn't want too]). We did two rounds of hearing the questions that everyone wrote. After we finished that, the bell rang, and we left to lunch.

Then, we took out a sheet of paper and wrote down Socratic Seminar: The refugee experience for the title, and listed down sources that we read for the book Inside Out and Back Again. After that, Ms. Nakada passed out a poem called "Home," by Warsan Shire. Next, we watched a video with students acting out the poem. Finally, the bell rang and we went to period 5. :)

Night is Thursday.
Will you be attending?

Hello, my name is Tariq. This is my first time doing a blog in three months. Today, we started to correct Charles' blog. It wasn't bad at all. Then, Ms. Nakada checked for reading journals, for the second time. Some students had their parents called, sadly. After that, we did Inktober and the word of today was Angular. Sadly, I didn't get to do Inktober. I'm too busy trying to milk this blog out. Ms. Nakada explained what to do with the parent letter, and a check list of things to do in your letter. Ms. Nakada explained how to write a letter and gave an example of "Why are you writing this letter." The letter can be in Spanish for your family. You must do an opening and a paragraph for today, about what you learned in this class. She gave an example of a letter. Dear lord, I just realized, when you run out of things to say, you just don't know what to say. Then, I realized how many memes there are in this damn computer. David tried to put memes on this blog, but I'm not going to follow that trend. I'm going to end the blog by the following credits. Thank you for listening and goodbye. (o_0)

Credits: Kiwi, Zamari, Leo, Leron, and I

Btw, since Leron wanted to be in the blog so much, I choose you. :)

I.O. & B.A.
HW-RJ 10.1 20-30 min. of a book

We started the day by correcting Leo's blog. Then, Ms. Nakada told us to take out our Reading Journals and had us write the quote: "Experience is not what happens to you; it's what you do with what happens to you" by Aldous Huxley. I think it means when something happens, make it how you
want to. Question: Is it offensive for sports teams to use Native Americans as mascots? My thoughts are that is offensive because their using Native Americans as mascots and some sports teams have horribly drawn pictures of Native American people. Ms. Nakada said, "We should have the Los Angeles Slaves" jokingly, and it was funny. Song: "Refugee" By Skip Marley (Bob Marley's grandson). My favorite line is "We gonna love you're people" and I think the song is about a family who had to run because a war and are inviting others. A refugee is someone who is forced to leave there homes. Today, all the seats got moved, and I have NO FRIENDS NEAR ME and I'm sad. We worked on Inktober, and the prompt was weak/mysterious, and I forgot my reading journal. HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY ELI!!!! Zamari wanted to be in the blog, so yea. Kiwi also wanted to be in the blog, so yea. The next blog I CHOOSE YOU!!! TARIQ P.!

HW: Weekend!!!

We first started the day with Jake's blog.  DANK MEMES!  It was the most memey blog this class had ever had.  After Jake finished reading the blog, he picked me as I knew he would the whole day.  Then, when I went to type my first blog, Ms. Nakada started the blog correction for the day.  Once it was finished, today's Inktober theme was Whale/Shattered so many were already drawing.  Some also came up in front to show their Inktober drawings and the class was filled with laughter.  Finally after the playing and laughing was over, we started the I.O. & B.A.  A.C.E practice and the question was: What  does the papaya tree symbolize in part ?  I still see the Craig and "You like jazz?" memes on the desktop.  I wonder how that got there.  Then, Mr. Hastings comes into the room and talks about something that happened in the gym or field???  Next, when we finish the A.C.E practice, we were able to get the iPads so we could check our grades and we also got work back.  We got THE OUTSIDERS essays. I didn't know what else to type so I finished the blog during or when we were checking grades and others.  After Ms. Nakada said to put away the iPads, she dismissed us, and the bell rang & we went off to lunch.

Today, we started by correcting Yeab's blog.  She got back to her seat, and immediately I knew it was my turn to go. We move on to Inktober, and the word is cruel (and I swear I heared Zamari's hairline in the background) so I drew a guy wanting a high-five, and then getting faked out and dabbed on. Then, we go over the story of I.O. & B.A. and the main character. We talk about how she is not only stubborn, impatient, and overall needy, but she can help out in heartbreaking situations. We move on to the tablets, and do our AR tests and check Schoology.  I was just looking around to see what else to write, when I notice that there are a ton of memes on the computers desktop.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!?

Anyway, the day was very normal. Nobody was up to no good, which kind of sucks for the blogger point of view. This means I have nothing to write about. Everyone is just reading silently man I'm bored. So, I just showed Yeab and Tariq they both laughed I wonder why. Anyway, the bell rang, and we went to lunch.

We started the day of by writing the agenda. Afterwards, Anselma read her blog, and I knew that she was going to choose me, because there are about three people who haven't written the blog. We made corrections to her blog as a class, and then we started continuing with our Inktober activity. I asked Kane for a sticky note, and he threw it on the floor. Good job. Next, we took out our English notebooks and we continued to write down our ten week fall semester grades. After that, Ms. Nakada gave everyone free time to read, check Schoology, or to take an AR test. She asked everyone to get an iPad so we wouldn't have to use our phones. A lot of the students were surprised that they were "real iPads." Zamari kept on bugging me telling me to put "I'm sleep" in the blog but, I guess I just did. Ms. Nakada had a change of plans, and she decided to make one person from each table bring the iPads. I like this way better, because there aren't people huddled up around my area. After everyone did that, the bell rang, and we went to lunch.

We started the day of by correcting David's blog. Why out of all people did you have to pick me!?! Anyway, after correcting his blog, we took out our English notebooks.  Ms. Nakada told the class that we were going to  Blog Corrections. She gave us a sentence to write down and then, correct them the right way. After that, Ms. Nakada told us to take out our Inktober. Today's prompt was precious. Of course, I couldn't draw it in class but I will do it for homework. When we finished drawing, we took out I.O AND B.A  books. Ms. Nakada told us to read silently, while she went around checking our reading journals. After a few minutes, we discussed what was the story about so far. When we finished discussing about the book we took out our English notebooks and went to our Fall Semester Grades. We had to take out the Reading Journals to see how many points we got and then write them in our English Journals.

H.W RJ 9.1 I.O.B.A
p. 1-61

Today, we stared the day off by reading the blog. Ms. Nakada chose the blogger, because Jose was not here and Danni was saying, "Pick this guy," 5 times. Ms. Nakada told us to trade our binder reminders to the person next to you, so we can grade them. We took out our English Notebooks to write the quote of the week that is: "Success travels in the company of very hard work. There is no trick, no easy way." Coach John Wooden. He means that you have to work hard to get what you want. you can't do nothing and get what you what. The question of the week is, Should we celebrate Columbus Day. I say no due to the fact that he did not found it some aother person found it. The song of the week is "Redemption Song" Bob Marley & the Wailers. I think the song means he wants to be free and find redemption from the people who forgive what you did wrong. My favorite song line is Emancipate yourself from mental slavery, don't do what there say break out of it. We put our English Notebooks in our backpacks. We got started on Inktober. The theme is star, I think, but I don't know. Ms. Nakada gave us a book that we are going to read for H.W. and tells us how to do it. We opened our English Notebook to Fall Semeter English scores to check, and write some more assignments. The bell rang while Ms. Nakada was saying something. That was rude, and we went of to lunch.

P.S. Danni, I'm not that guy. My name is David. Get it right, word.

Eli's First Blog

AGENDA:

BLOG/CORRECTIONS
Inktober
Readers/Writers Workshop
HW:
RJ 8.4 Read for 20-30 minutes.

We started off the day by going over and correcting Amara's blog. After two days of begging to be chosen, I was finally picked. Excited to write the blog, here I am. Getting back on track, we then started Inktober. Today's prompt was spell. It was quite hard trying to draw with this computer here. After everyone was finished, we then transitioned to Reader's Workshop, but at the same time, people could still finish their T.O. essays, and take AR tests on the computers. I really don't know what there is left to do with this blog, since I don't want this blog to be short. At this point, I would be saying random things that I'd notice, or anything. How's your day? What's your favorite color? What book are you reading? I'd be asking this, but this is just a blog, and I need to type something. I think I've typed enough to make it feel long, and I'm not gonna end it with the typical bell ringing and going to lunch, so I'm just going to end it with a simple goodbye.

HW: Happy weekend! Prep for Inktober!

Hi. First, we did blog corrections, and they had to choose me, even though I didn't want to. Next, Ms. Nakada taught us how to use an AlphaSmart. Then, she passed them out to people who wanted to use them. Ms. Nakada had to tell people to be quiet, because people were talking. Then, Ms. Nakada was telling everyone about body paragraphs. Then, someone asked Ms. Nakada if she could tell David to stop typing so loud, and she told him to move to her desk in the back. Then, someone came into our class and asked if he could finish his test. Ms. Nakada asked why people who writing the essay kept putting The Outsiders in quotations. Then, she told people if they were using an AlphaSmart, to turn them off. Finally, out of nowhere the bell rang.

First, we walked into class and got out our binder reminders and wrote down the agenda. Nancy read her blog, and we corrected it. Then, Nancy had to choose me, even when there were people who wanted to do the blog and I didn't. Thanks, Nancy. Then, Ms. Nakada started explaining what Inktober is. Inktober is a month where you learn to use ink pens and create cool drawings with them. When we were done discussing Inktober, Ms. Nakada went onto her Instagram and showed us the pictures of students with the banned books. When the class saw Kane's face, everyone laughed.

Then, we worked on the pre-write for our essay. Everyone was very quiet, almost too quiet, nobody was talking unless asking a question. Charles then asked me to put him in the blog, and there isn't a lot to write about because everyone is so quiet, so I did.  After a while of doing work, we looked at Abtin's reasons for why Ponyboy will not stay gold. Then, we went off to lunch.

 Banned Books Week
 Essay Pre-write RJ
 Essay Rubrics
 H.W. RJ 7.3 read for 20-30
  minutes

Today, we started off the day by correcting Arezou's blog. Ms. Nakada told us to take out our English Notebooks and turn to page 8. She also asked what a thesis statement is. A thesis statement is what you're talking about in a paragraph or essay. There are three parts to an essay: Introduction, Body Paragraphs, and a Conclusion. For the introduction in an essay we have to provide a thesis statement and provide reasoning. After Ms. Ciafone came in, and told Ms. Nakada that she had to go to an IEP meeting. Ms. Ciafone said that "You always need to have a strong couple of sentences in the beginning of the essay."

After a few minutes, Ms. Nakada came back. She asked if we understood what a "lead" or a "hook" was. She told us to take out another piece of paper for an essay pre-write on The Outsiders. She said we are allowed to type it, but everything is done in class. She gave us examples about what we should write about. Ms. Nakada asked what tone meant, and Mathan raised his hand and said that tone meant, "vibe." She asked which one of the Curtis brothers supports "The Poverty Myth." Ms. Nakada gave us more examples for the essay that we chose. The bell rang, and we went off to lunch.

RJ 7.2 read for 20-30 minutes

We started the day off by correcting Zamari's blog. Then, Ms. Nakada asked us if we wanted to take a picture with a banned book since it is banned books week. After that, Ms. Nakada told us that we needed to write down our reading logs in our journal. We took out "The Poverty Myth," and went over it. Ms. Nakada said that Emerson is such a unique school because it is so diverse. We talked about how teachers need to not make such assumptions. Different solutions we can find in the text were: "Avoid references to free or reduced-price lunches," "Conduct in-service training about issues of poverty" and "Respect for the unique challenges faced by low-income students." The story ends by Brenna getting straight A's by going to night school and proves the teachers wrong.  Ms. Nakada then says that you can find the answers to questions by the patterns they have. We then turn to our English book and write the title Essay Structure on page 8. We just wrote a sentence and out of nowhere, the bell rang and we went off to lunch.

HW RJ 7.1 Read for 20-30 min

Hi, everyone, just to let you know, I am not happy to be here. Thanks a lot, Victoria, you suck at Fortnite. Anyway, we started by talking about banned books. Ms. Nakada said THE S WORD. Everyone started freaking out, and I'm like, "You guys are immature."

We started talking about banned books and watched a video set in Tiananmen Square. Thousands of people died here, and you're not allowed to talk about it now in China. Somethings you do things in the USA you can't do in other places. Kuper just asked a weird question. I'm Sleep. Omg, to think The Hate U Give was on the banned books list. I'm shocked. James called me Li'l Bill. Little does he know we all know he looks like Pennywise.

Quote: "Banning books gives us silence when we need speech. It closes our ears when we need to listen. It makes us blind when we need sight"- Stephen Chbosky author of The Perks of being a Wallflower. James a hater.

Question: Do read banned books? Yes it crazy how books can be banned.

Song: "Cult of Personalty" Living Color. The WWE wrestler Cm Punk uses this and he's kinda crazy. Then, we turned in our book projects. Then, we went off to lunch.
