HW: R.J 1.2 T.O. Ch. 2.
Today, on Thursday, us Desperate Cheetos discussed our blogs, got out our reading journals, wrote our names on it as well as kept a record of the books we are reading and discussing. Right now, that is The Outsiders by S.E Hinton. Our discussion consisted of a quick summary, which was that Ponyboy is walking home from the movies and introduces his brothers: Soda and Darry. He's a greaser and gets jumped by the Socs. He calls for help and the gang saves him. We meet the gang and learn that Pony and Darry don't get along. They are orphans, and Pony loves Soda best. Soda wants to marry Sandy.
In our English Notebook (not Reading Journal), in our Table of Contents for page 2 we put: "Elements of Plot." and on 4 pages away from the Fall Quotes, Questions and Songs of the Week we put "Elements of Plot" on its title. We discussed the Elements of the Plot and what are the points of them and their correct placement (ex: In a good story the conflict is not solved early on, otherwise the reader wouldn't be engaged.) Also, the difference between an external and internal conflict. The page read:
Elements of a Plot are the components of a story.
