Today, we started by Kane passing out cupcakes for Ms. Nakada's B-Day that was last Sunday. Next, Leo reads his blog, and picks me to do the blog. While Kiwi is trying to help me fix the laptop, we ask for Ms. Nakada's help, and she gave us a point for the cupcakes, and we all say thanks to Kane. Then, we took out our handouts, that Ms. Nakada gives us yesterday, and Kiwi finds her pencil, and she is happy, I think, or not. Kiwi is just Kiwi. Then, Kiwi says to me, "Look how straight these line are." I don't how that's supposed to help her with the handout, but okay, and she shows me what I she drew on her hand.

That monster, or what ever that is, that's on Kiwi hand, is named Robert, for your information. While we were doing the handout, Ms. Nakada was coming by the tables to check our 20 poems we need to have. Then, Nancy asked me to put her in the blog. After that, Ms. Nakada said that we are going to self check our handout in five minutes. Next, I was looking around when I see Anselma and Zamari were fighting, and were not doing their work. Then, Ms. Nakada asked, "Who needs a red pen?"
Kiwi wants to pass them out, but Ms. Nakada passes them. Next, we check the handout and it was out of ten but you could have gotten eleven. Next, everybody was getting pack up to go to lunch, and Kiwi got to pick up all of the red pens. Everyone waits until the bell rings. The bell rang, and we went to lunch.

P.S I could not put every one in the blog to many name or I could not spell it, and I want us to get a point and I think we are on six so only three more points yea!

15 week grades
"There Are Birds Here"p. 3

HW:

R.J: 14.4 (15 min.)
20 poems read and drafted                                                     (Anselma read her blog>)

Today, we started the day by correcting Anselma's blog, and she picked me. I feel so much better that I'm not in my usual seat, but we won't talk about that right now. After doing blog corrections and after I got to start typing my blog, we discussed about the essays/ other work and the poems. We also started another grade column to our list for 20 NaPoWrimo poems. Then, we got some of our work back (projects, essays, etc) and the portfolios to them in. While I was doing this, Jose came to tell Kiwi that there were 5 gums in the trash bin outside the classroom. I thought I knew something about it, while hearing Mathan and Kiwi quacking in the background. "Quack, Quaaaaaaa...". I forgot. We then collected the portfolios and took out our poetry packets to read the poem: "There Are Birds Here" by Jamaal May. The poem was about / for Detroit talking about the conditions or the violence there. Even the bad things of it. It also said of a neighborhood day unlike war zones or ruins. I think this was about how the city could seem ruined, or bad but is good, for the children may be ruined in the birdless city. Ms. Nakada asks if everyone in the class are gamers?????????????? After reading the poem, we got worksheets to work on about the poem we just read. We didn't finish the page, and we went off to lunch as the bell rang.

Shoutout to Kiwi, Kuper, Charles(because he asked), Abtin and Jake.
Also shoutout to Shoval and Rozhan... I guess??
And Yonina and David.  (also Shanylah)

P.S I Pick David

Kane got really mad at the Tetris beat box meme.

Danni's my best friend?

I also wondered why so many people spelled Shanylah's name wrong...

So, we started of the day by correcting Victoria's blog. Of course, she had to pick me. Anyways, thanks, Victoria, for giving us a point. Then, a few minutes later, Mr. Hastings comes in and Nathaniel told him to buy Ms. Nakada something for staying late at school for the volleyball game. We take our packets to page 5, and read the poem "Toy Boat." After reading the poem, we discuss of what the poem is about. Then, like me and four other people hit the woah. Love that. After, Ms. Nakada passes out a paper with four questions. I swear everyone be doing the woah. Ms. Nakada went around checking reading journals. And yeah, that's it.

Oh and shout outs to: Shoval, Rozhan, Lupe, Kuper, and Leo

First 20 check on Thurs.

We started the day off by Tariq reading his blog, and when he had to choose someone, everyone was saying to choose me, so he did. After that, we got out our poems packet. We got a handout and had to fill the answers. We got the answers by reading the poem "Tired." Rozhan and Shoval told me to put them in the blog, so there you go. I don't want to type that much, because I want our class to get another point. I don't even know how many points we have, because it's in Chinese numbers. We went over the answers. We then collected the handout, and Shanylah wrote a poem and read it to the class. Ms. Nakada says she is grading reading journals, so make sure you have it done.

Shoutout: Anselma, Natalie, Rozhan, Shoval, Eduardo, Chloe.

Me and Shanylah tried to do a photo but it wouldn't work. {tough times}

So, today we started by correcting the blog. Then, we went over the quote of the week, song of the week, and question of the week. The quote was: "Water does not resist. Water flows. [...] Dripping water wears away stone. [...] Remember you are half water. If you can't go through an obstacle, go wound it. Water does." Margaret Atwood. Question: How can you successfully handle stressful situations? Song: Enya's "Only Time."

Wow, I just deleted most of the stuff on this blog so here is Danny Devito to cover it up. Then, Ms. Nakada gave us infomation of how to prep for our testing that is coming really soon.Thank you, Kiwi, for showing how to take pictures in this machinery (I HATE MACHINES SO MUCH THAT I WANT ACTUALLY WANT JUMP OUT OF A WINDOW). Oh yeah, here are some pictures.

Then, Ms.Nakada was telling how to use spell check. World record for me: I've scared Kiwi for the third time in one period. I realized that I'm writing for a link,

We started by reading Kuper's blog. Danni shouted, "Yeab hasn't done the blog yet!" I told her how annoying that was but she ignored me. Kuper ended up picking me. We read "O Captain! My Captain!"a poem by Walt Whitman. We started analyzing the poem then someone mentioned Nipsey Hussle's memorial today. I was supposed to go, but my dad only bought one ticket. We continued analyzing the poem. The poem was dedicated to Abraham Lincoln. Ms. Nakada tells us to write a poem that's dedicated to someone. Devan, Kuper, and someone else asked to be in the blog, I think it was Nathaniel.  Shanylah shares her poem. It had nice repetition. Aadhik also shared his poem, I couldn't hear him though. Kuper writes a poem about her lip gloss. Shoval shares a cheesy love poem dedicated to Abtin. Ms. Nakada shares her poem. Zamari shares his poem about stereotypes and racism. We work on our English B worksheets. Mr. B. walks in and tells us how his fourth period won't shut up. On the other hand, Ms. Nakada claims that she likes us. Danni, Shoval, Anselma, Shanylah, Chris, and *wheezing* Nancy ask to be in the blog. The bell rings, and of course, there's a picture. Never mind, it's not loading.

Wassup blog! It's Kuper again, and today you will be experiencing what happens in our class. We corrected the blog, and Anthony told Yonina/Xavier to pick me. Guess what she does? She picks me. Thanks a lot. I didn't bring my glasses today, so Kiwi being the helpful person she is, says that she'll type the agenda for me. Thanks Kiwi. Nathaniel, Chris, and Shanylah ask to be in the blog, so there you go. We're reading a poem called "Abuelito Who," and it's kinda sad. Zamari reads the poem, and Ms. Nakada starts annotating the poem. Ms. Nakada was explaining the death in the poem and Shanylah says, "When I die, I'm going to make a Kahoot about my life and whoever wins gets all my money." GREAT idea. Ms. Nakada finishes annotating the poem, and she asks us how many poems have we written. She tells us to take out our poems and after a couple minutes we'll share. Now, I'm kinda tired of typing, because I'm really bored.♥ I started looking through some emoji thingies. I turn around and I see Zamari making these weird faces. He needs some Jesus. Shanylah keeps asking me to put her in the blog, but she's already in here so I won't. Oops. Guess I just did. Ms. Nakada asks us to share our poems. Danni shares her hate poem, Shanylah shares her poem of dead love.  Ms. Nakada tells everyone to stand up and she doesn't call my name. I guess I didn't turn my work in. I'm not a scholar *wipes tear*. I'm going to take some more pics, 'cause I'm super duper bored.

 oh my god, sis i-

Ouu, Kiwi looking fineeeee. Anyways, Ms. Nakada starts explaining what amphibians are and annotates the poems. GUYS , KIWI NEEDS TO MAKE A DANCE PAGE FOR WOAHING! ✰ Kiwi is showing me her finger and it's bleeding. OMG, you need an ambulance. I turn around ( again) and Rozhan wants to be in the blog. There. The bell rings and and we go to lunch. Thank for listening kids.

oh and Shoval wants to be in the blog.

GOOD MORNING AMERICA! It's Xavier, the boy-ish version of your former classmate, Yonina. To start this fabulous day, we wrote our agenda in our binder reminders and went on with the rest of our agenda. We read the poem on page six, "For Black Poets Who Think of Suicide" by Ethridge Knight.
This poem hit hard. PERIODT.  In the beginning, the topic of the conversation was about suicide. Then, Shanylah brought up a very interesting question. She asked about why White people are being called racist for the same thing a Black person would do? (Not exact words, but my brain couldn't process that fast.) We began analyzing the poem and found three ways this poem is a poem: repetition, parallel structure, and metaphor. Basically, ALL BLACK POETS, LISTEN UP. Don't commit suicide, keep doing you, and write your poems and play your trumpet; start a conversation.
We are about half way into the class, listening to two teens from the club, Get Lit. These two keep on preaching at us. Honestly, I'm not an African American person, so this means a lot to me, but just looking at the way they are reading the poems, WOOHOO! It's a bigger meaning for them. I feel like they have friends who have committed suicide and have been in this situation. (Not for sure.) I wanna cry, wowza!

So, these two bums want me to put them in the blog. Here you go, Shovel and Toezhan!
Big Thank you to the homegirl, Kiwi! She fixed my waves!
There is about 20 minutes left in class, and I'm a bum. Everyone's writing poems, and I can't think of anything. Kuper keeps talking. SHHHH KUPER! So, now like five other people wanna be in my blog. So I'm just gonna make a list :) : Kuper, Nancy, and Anselma. My brain is slow, so I forgot the rest. Sorry class, Xavvy probably isn't getting you a point. Whoops. Anthony called me hot. I'm pulling girlfriends. That's the tea. OOP I GO TO READ THIS! Uh Oh. Bye guys.

Oh good god, it took me a century to write the Agenda, and allow me to explain the title when I first wrote the blog. It didn't save, so here we are. We started by writing down the agenda, and we did the Q.Q. Song. Quote: "Poetry is not a luxury. It is a vital necessity to our existence." Audre Lorde. Question: Who/what defines who you are? Song: "Minijitis Blues" by Memphis Minnie. Kiwi kept showing me her finger nail. Then, she kept wiggiling it, and it made me extremely squirmy. We then read "Fog" which I just don't understand. Here is my poem: my love was stolen leaving a hole in my heart yet you didn't know my heart was torn apart. Ummmm the bell rang, and we went to lunch.

Okay, so we started the day by correcting Jake's blog. When I was picked, Eli questioned why I don't want to get picked all of the sudden. Kiwi questions my typing skills, and in Jake's blog, he mentions Pewdiepie. Ms. Nakada thinks it's a My Little Pony character, and Kane corrects her by stating that the character in question is Pinkie Pie, not Pewdiepie.
The more I type, the more I have to read, but it is a worthy sacrifice. For one, I flex on Kiwi with my typing skills. Two, I was gonna say something funny, but I forgot.

Enough with the fluff, now I shall go and type actually important stuff. (Mad bars BD)

Ms. Nakada says that we should have one signature in our R.J.'s per week, and that you should re-read poems to comprehend them better. We read an unnamed poem by Emily Dickinson on page 6 in our poem-packet-thing. This poem uses a bird as a symbol for hope, and a storm as a symbol for hopelessness. The rhyme scheme for this is ABABCDCDEE. Then, we find three words that call to us in the poem, and put them in our own poem.
How do I put a funny image?

..O--O..
....__....   Pictured: My attempt at a smiley face with sunglasses.
....|_|.....  (Left)

The room is silent, except for the sound of my typing and a few whispers.
It's 12:17 PM and now Charles shares a poem about birds dropping feathers. More people share poems.
Ms. Nakada says that it's brave to share a poem, and you shouldn't be saying names after you share one. Also, you should write whenever you have an idea for a poem.
Ms. Nakada says that if you need help making a poem, you go to her page on the Emerson website, then scroll down and click on one of the links under "poetry." Our R.J's are checked. Nathaniel asks to be in the blog. Ms. Nakada talks about acrostics, which I will now demonstrate.

So, okay this is the second time this has ever happened, but this time I need do the whole blog over again. I must have not published it though, even though I swear I did. Doesn't matter, that blog was really boring. Kiwi became god by making her poems stand up, and we captured it in this breath taking shot. To bad you can't witness it because it won't upload to the blog.

Charlie begged me to give him a SHOUT out, so here you go. I didn't do that in the blog that got deleted. Kiwi's pencil wasn't working for about a minute or two, so she started abusing it. Then, she got a new one and now there is peace in the world. Now, we have moved on to writing poems, and the room's completely quiet, so no one's making jokes or saying something funny, so there is really nothing to write about. That's really it for the blog, so I may just end it here, so the bell rang, and we left for lunch.

Thanks to Kiwi for helping with the blog, and pewdiepie is the best.
